Michel and the super prison

2019

I illustrated the article "Michel und das Supergefängnis" featured in Kater Demos magazine, written by Judith Pape. The piece explores the theme of mass surveillance and its impact on society. My illustrations were designed to visually capture the tension and confinement associated with the topic.

Using a combination of ink, markers, and Photoshop, I created a distinct, dystopian atmosphere with bold, intricate details. The imagery features surreal depictions of confinement, including a head with an abacus embedded, symbolizing control, calculation, and the invasion of personal freedom. The color palette was deliberately chosen to contrast the mechanical coldness of surveillance with a human, vulnerable subject.

These illustrations complement the narrative, enhancing the reader's engagement with the themes of power, observation, and isolation.
